In Case of an Emergency: First Aid & Preparedness Kit Preparations
You can never be too prepared. Disaster can happen anywhere and anytime. From unexpected road closures, to severe weather, and everything in between. No matter the season, it is important to make sure you replenish your preparedness kit at least once a year. In an instant, a natural disaster can occur giving you little to no time to prepare.
Here are some suggested items to consider having in your kit.
A list of items you may find handy:
First Aid Kit:
- Daily medications you take
- EpiPen (If you have severe allergies)
- Bandages
- Disinfectant wipes
- Neosporin
- Allergy medicine
- Cold and Flu medicine
- Stomach relief medication
- Pain reliever
- Facial tissues
- Hand sanitizer
- Sting relief or meat tenderizer for bee sting
- Anti-itch ointment
- Additional set of glasses or contacts (if needed)
Preparedness Kit:
- Emergency contacts
- Non-perishable food & water
- Map
- Extra flashlight
- Extra batteries
- Thermal blanket
- Emergency flares
- Solar power charging source
- Change of clothes appropriate for upcoming seasonal conditions
- Cash
- Garbage bags
- Funnel
- Work gloves
- Additional boots
- Rain gear
Seasonal items to keep in mind:
- Sunscreen
- Aloe
- Mosquito repellent
- Chapstick with SPF
