Summer Maintenance Tips

PacLease prides itself on promoting quality preventative maintenance to increase customer uptime. When it comes to your preventive maintenance, being proactive goes a long way. As we approach summer, here are a few maintenance best practices to follow to ensure your fleet is ready for the summer months.

A/C Maintenance:

- Check refrigerant levels and inspect for any potential leaks.

- Ensure proper air flow and temperature levels.

- Inspect and clean the A/C filter.

- Verify that A/C controls are functioning correctly.

- Check and lubricate belt tensioners. Inspect belts for any cracking.

Tire Maintenance:

- Inspect tire tread depth and sidewalls for damage.

- Check tire pressure and adjust if necessary.

- Inspect lug nuts and tighten if needed.

- Check valve stems for leaks and serviceability.

Wheel Maintenance:

- Inspect rims for damage such as bends or cracks.

- Check for rust that can damage the surface and appearance.

Brake Maintenance:

- Check brake wear and look for uneven wear.

- Inspect for cracks, heat spots, and warped discs/drum brakes.

Windshield Wiper Maintenance:

- Top off windshield wiper fluid.

- Inspect windshield wiper reservoir for cracks or leaks and ensure the cap is serviceable.

- Replace windshield wipers.

Battery Maintenance:

- Clean and check CCA output and use battery protectant.

Drive Lines and Suspension Maintenance:

- Check drive lines for looseness or binding.

- Ensure proper greasing of drive lines and suspension.

- Verify proper mounting of shocks and springs, and check for loose springs or missing bolts.

- Ensure airbags inflate and deflate properly and replace any leaking airbags.

Undercarriage Maintenance:

- Remove de-icer/salt from the undercarriage in colder climates to reduce rust and corrosion.

By following this maintenance checklist, you can proactively ensure the uptime and longevity of your fleet during spring and summer.
